Tim Bildsoe Files for Hennepin County District 2 seat

Minneapolis, MN – On Tuesday, June 5th, North Loop Neighborhood Association President and former Plymouth City Council Member Tim Bildsoe formally filed as a candidate for Hennepin County Commissioner District 2.

“Hennepin County District 2 deserves a commissioner that understands the importance of county governance. When elected, my priorities will include continued maintenance of our public infrastructure, supporting a world-class hospital and health care system, judicious investment of county funds, and improving the livability for all in Hennepin County.”

“I am excited to be running for Hennepin County Commissioner and look forward to earning the support of voters across District 2!”

Hennepin County District 2 includes north and northeast Minneapolis, as well as the Bryn Mawr and North Loop neighborhoods, the cities of St. Anthony, Golden Valley, Medicine Lake, and southeast Plymouth.

Tim is no stranger to elected office who brings 16 years of public service experience from the Plymouth City Council. Tim was first elected to the Plymouth City Council in 1996, and served as an at-large City Council Member for Plymouth from 2002 to 2014.

During Tim’s tenure on the Plymouth City Council, he advocated for the protection of Plymouth’s wetlands and lakes including Medicine Lake, the second largest body of water in Hennepin County. Tim championed investments for transit, trails, parks, and community gathering places. He also promoted economic development opportunities for the City of Plymouth, which added thousands of jobs to the city.

Tim filed for office on Tuesday afternoon with his wife, Kathleen Frey, by his side. The two live in the North Loop neighborhood in Minneapolis where Tim has been President of the North Loop Neighborhood Association since 2017. Tim currently works in commercial insurance for USI Insurance Services in Bloomington.
